Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to announce the H.bioinfo 09 conference – taking place during 19-21 November 2016 in Thessaloniki, Greece. We will also provide several tutorials on annotation and comparative analysis systems on November 18th.

This international event is organized by the recently founded Hellenic Bioinformatics (H.bioinfo) society and supported by local research/education organisations. H.bioinfo members have co-organized eight such conferences in the past, so we have called this H.bioinfo 09, although this is the first event under our new brand.

Both the society and the conference have very strong and high profile international support as you can see from the attached flyer, which we consider crucial for the further development of the field in Greece.

The theme of the meeting is “Bioinformatics as a growth engine for Greece” — following years of financial crisis. We anticipate that this conference will be the major bioinformatics event in the country this year, expect it to attract participants from all over Europe, and beyond.
